Swag?

한국에서 스웩이라는 단어를 들으면 대부분 드는 느낌이 바로 이렇지 않을까.

 

그런데 의외로 학교나 회사에서 주최하는 행사 메일에서 자주 이 Swag란 단어를 볼 수 있다. 왜 건전한(?) 업무 이메일에 스웩을?

Food and swag will be provided.

여기서 swag은 바로 약탈품, 전리품, 기념품을 뜻하는 것이다.

Homer leaves the house to attend a nuclear power convention in Boise, Idaho with Lenny and Carl. 여기서 나쁜 행동이란 회사일로 참석한 컨벤션에서 무료 기념품들 Swag를 쓸어 담는 것이다.  호머, 레니, 칼 이 셋은 신나서 뮤지컬 ‘페임’의 노래를 개사해 부르며 기념품Swag을 쓸어담는다. 그러다 컨벤션에서 쫓겨난다.
